La Pina, a well known italian radio personality, stopped by Farinella for a visit. After trying our "DIANA" panino (broccoli rabe sauted in extra virgin olive oil with garlic, chili peppers, and smoked mozzarella), she instantly fell in love and returned everyday of her week-long visit to NY. La Pina brought her radio show "PINOCCHIO" (one of the most popular in Italy on the number one station RADIO DEEJAY) for a week of live and direct broadcast from the BigApple. Farinella was a HOT TOPIC and we ended up appearing as a guest live on the show. At the end of her journey, she was sad to leave our "DIANA". As she left we heard her lament "I'll never find this in Milano!".
After a lovely summer hiatus Farinella resumed Saturday business hours in early September just in time for some friends from ESPN.com to drop by. As we all mourn the end of summer, snowboarders all over rejoice the return of snowboard season. The good people at ESPN.com (probably while craving pizza) noticed a link between our PALAM and the snowboard. Check out a few top secret shots taken at a photoshoot done by Pete Thompson.Read More
On August 31, 2009 our friend, photographer Alesandro ZUEK Simonetti in a collaboration with ZooYork presented an art show called "From Above We Are Grounded" at KCDC Gallery in Brooklyn. This exhibit showcased 6 skateboards by ZooYork featuring aerial shots of Gotham taken by Alessandro while flying around in a helicopter. Farinella proudly helped sponsor this event, providing pizza for the VIP opening reception.
